BBC bitesize is a great starting point for Religious Studies:
Parents continue to be the most important role models for children and young people, and so modelling good oracy yourself is a great way to encourage and support Oracy at home.
Ask open-ended questions (questions that require your child to explain their ideas and views) about the controversial issues and current event topics.
Ask them which topics they have been learning about in their ICE lessons. Explain your views. Do they agree with your ideas and views? Why? Why not?
Do they have any strong opinions or views on the issues and topics? How are the issues relevant to the world we live in?
Can you play devil's advocate (express an opposing or controversial opinion in order to provoke a debate or test the strength of your child's view or arguement) ?
